Although talk of grape clones can get rather geeky, we were impressed to discover that this Sangiovese is made from a Brunello clone, Brunello di Montalcino being one of the most prized of Italian wines. Blended with 12 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2011 Sangiovese boasts black cherry and raspberry flavors with earthy notes and ripe tannins.
