In 1936, Wente Vineyards produced the first California wine labeled Chardonnay. The 2012 Riva Ranch vintage is medium-bodied with light floral aromas, and flavors of honey and citrus fruit are balanced by vanilla and oak from the oak barrel aging. It leaves the palate with a round mouthfeel and a medium fruity finish.
