Yarden Winery 2008 Merlot
Galil, Israel

Possibly one of the best-known kosher wineries in the world, Yarden is highly respected for its red wines grown in the Golan Heights. The winery makes some impressive, limited-production wines but of its internationally distributed releases, we particularly like their Merlot. A nicely-structured wine, it offers the earthy notes of an Old World style combined with the New World flourish of jammy plum and blackberry.

Rating: 13.5/20
