Larner 2014 Estate Grown Rose is made using the saignee method

Larner 2014 Estate Grown Rosé
Ballard Canyon, California

Larner Vineyards makes its rosés by the saignée (which means "bleeding" in French) method, as a byproduct of red wine fermentation. Some of the wine held in each red grape block is bled out, resulting in beautiful pink elixir. Fifty percent Syrah, 30 percent Grenache and 20 percent Mourvèdre are blended together for the 2014 rosé. Take a tour of the winery at the Larner official website.
