Enjoy performances by some of the best folk artists in St. Ann's Church during this three-day music fest.

Performers take the stage at St. Ann's Church for the Brooklyn Folk Fest

Considered one of the premier festivals in NYC (in a historic church no less!), the Brooklyn Folk Festival brings together acts in genres including Americana and blues as well as international folk music. This year's headliners include Jerron “Blind Boy” Paxton, Willie Watson of Old Crow Medicine Show, folk star Michael Hurley and acclaimed poet Anne Waldman opening the festival, along with more than 20 other artists on two stages.

Highlights include swing dancing lessons, DIY tutorials for creating your own instruments, a harmonica-playing contest, and the traditional banjo toss where participants throw the instrument- tied to a rope- into the Gowanus Canal. There will also be a screening of Shake ‘Em On Down, a documentary film about legendary blues musician Mississippi Fred McDowell followed by a Q&A with filmmaker Scott Baretta.
