Festival of Books
The ultimate Bibliophiles event returns to USC with appearances by Joyce Carol Oates and Bryan Cranston among others.
USC once again hosts the annual two-day book event where acclaimed authors make appearances and participate in the event's "Conversations" series. This year's guest authors include literary icons Margaret Atwood and Joyce Carol Oates, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Roxane Gay and 2015 Pulitzer Prize winner Viet Thanh Nguyen promoting his latest, "The Refugees".
The event is not without its fair share of celebrity appearances with Breaking Bad star turned memoirist Bryan Cranston promoting "A Life in Parts" and Ayesha Curry promoting her cook book, "The Seasoned Life". Dave Grohl, Cesar Millan, and Danica McKellar of "The Wonder Years" are other famous faces who put pen to paper and are now promoting their latest works. Plus cooking demonstrations and panels with Sqirl's Jessica Koslow and Mozza's Nancy Silverton.
Conversation tickets are free ($1 service charge) and will be available starting April 16 at 8 a.m., a limited amount will also be available on site. Festival Passes are available for $35 and include early access to reserve up to 20 Conversations tickets and two tickets to the Los Angeles Times Book Prizes ceremony.
General admission is free and several exhibitors will be on hand selling books and other literary trinkets.
