Come out for one of Waikiki's premier water sports events.
This week-long ocean sports festival celebrates the legacy of "The Father of International Surfing" Duke Kahanamoku, a three-time Olympic Gold medalist and one of Hawaii's most revered athletes. Held on the iconic Waikiki Beach, Duke's OceanFest hosts an array of sports competitions: surfing, swimming, stand-up paddle boarding, beach volleyball and more. Proceeds raised from the festival go to support the Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Foundation's mission of providing college scholarships and athletic grants to Hawaii's outstanding scholar-athletes in water sports. In addition to the sports competitions, OceanFest pays tribute to the legend of Duke with several ceremonies held throughout the week. The week concludes with a sidewalk surfboard parade and lei draping at Duke Kahanamoku's Statue.
