NYC Vegetarian Food Festival
Let the good thymes roll at this green food fest.
Vegans and vegetarians alike come together for this annual two-day fest where in addition to food samples there will be cooking demos and keynote speakers on three separate stages aptly named Pear, Banana and Apple. Kristin LaJeunesse of the blog Will Travel For Vegan Food, HuffPost blogger for Meatless Monday Ellen Kanner and Craig Cochran, COO of vegan restaurant Terri, are among the speakers who will discuss the benefits of a vegetarian lifestyle.
There will be seven cooking demos from vegan/vegetarian experts including Dustin Harder of the web series The Vegan Roadie, Adam Sobel of vegan food truck A Cinnamon Snail and J.L. Fields, founder of the Colorado Springs Vegan Cooking Academy.
There will be a veg speed date sessiono both nights as well as a screening of Home on the Range and a kid's area will also be available for the weekend with several activities including face painting, story time, a vegan soap making session and a farm animal photo booth plus more than 100 exhibitors selling vegetarian wares.
Tickets are $30 for one day, $50 for both days or $75 for VIP (only available for both days), which includes a goodie bag, festival tee and express admission. The festival runs from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.
