Considered the "Pumpkin Capital of the World," this scenic coastland area is known for harvesting these orange gourds.

The pumpkin queen and her gourd at the Half Moon Pumpkin Fest

Celebrate the beauty and bounty of the fall season at Half Moon Bay Art & Pumpkin Festival. A crop of more than 3,000 tons will be awaiting visitors to celebrate one of California's largest and oldest festivals. Eat your fill of pumpkin-flavored goodies, such as pancakes, breads, pies, cheesecakes, smoothies, churros, chicken sausages, seeds and more. Those looking for more substantial gourmet selections will find traditional favorites including corn dogs, clam chowder bread bowls, garlic fries, hamburgers, roasted turkey legs and corn-on-the-cob. Wash it all down with varietals from Half Moon Bay Winery or pumpkin-flavored craft beers. For entertainment, explore the many arts and crafts or participate in the pie-eating contest. Plus, make sure to pick your own pumpkins from the patch to take home.
