Shim Farm

Located in Chinatown, this family-owned coffee and protea farm offers a peek into the world of coffee making.

The grounds of Shim Farm

A descendant of a Chinese family that settled in the Keokea area of Kula at the turn of the 20th century, Casey Shim founded the farm on his family's land and grows fruit trees and lots of flowers, not to mention the land has one-of-a-kind view "downcountry" 3,500 above sea level.

In addition to coffee, the farm has an aromatherapy area, a Hawaiian plants garden, the original Shim family home, remanants of lava flow and horses grazing in the pasture. The personalized tour begins with a short introduction to coffee, proteas and the history of the Chinese in Kula and is followed by a walk through the farm.
