Fans of The French Laundry were worried that Thomas Keller's original masterpiece would suffer if he split his time on both coasts; New Yorkers were equally skeptical of a California transplant blossoming in their tough-as-nails restaurant market. As evidenced by his back-to-back Top 40 inclusions for both restaurants, it's clear the concern was all for naught. Not even the most cynical New York diners can find fault with Keller's incredibly inventive fare and topnotch, synchronized service.
