Saturday June 20, 2015 marks the inaugural Ethiopian Airlines flight from Addis Ababa to Los Angeles with a stopover in Dublin. This celebrates a momentous occasion for the fast growing airline ( and already the largest in Africa) since it is the first direct service connecting Africa to the West Coast of the United States.

This flight doubles as the only direct non-stop from Los Angles to Dublin. The flights will be on the sleek and modern Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, which offers maximum comfort for the long flight. To ensure guests’ satisfaction, features aboard the aircraft include spacious cabins, big windows and reduced noise. Service is either in business class or economy. Passengers traveling between Africa and Los Angeles will have a layover (75 minutes) in Dublin, or the option of a free stopover to visit the Irish capital.

“It’s a dream come true” expressed Ethiopian Airlines CEO Tewolde Gebremarian. These newly established connections will introduce new routes of tourism and increased mobility between Ireland, the West Coast of the United States and Africa. From the Addis hub 49 African cities are within reach.
