The
CONCERN Foundation for Cancer Research hosted on July 12, 2008 its 34th
annual Block Party, “Tuned In To Cancer Research,” to benefit efforts worldwide, raising roughly $1.5 million on that culinary evening. Held outside on the Paramount Studios lot, block partiers
sampled food from great Los Angeles restaurants including 3 on Fourth, All' Angelo, blue on blue, Chaya Brasserie, Café Del Rey, Il Moro, La Cachette, La Provence Pâtisserie & Café, and The Grill on Hollywood, among others. This year, Avi Lerner, humanitarian and co-owner of Nu Image and Millenium Pictures, was honored. The event also featured live
and silent auctions of 200 trips and memorabilia, rock
climbing, casino games from Pechanga Resort & Casino, a photo studio, and live musical
entertainment.
Sophie
Gayot, in black below, was happy to support the event
with her attendance. Listen to Sophie's radio interview where she discussed the CONCERN Foundation during her June 30, 2008 appearance on Frank Mottek's Business Hour on KNX1070.
