Eighth GAYOT.com Dinner Series | Anaheim White House, Anaheim, CA

By Sophie Gayot

April, 2012

Chef/owner Bruno Serato of the Anaheim White House restaurant and I are joining forces for the next event in the GAYOT Dinner Series on April 26th to benefit Caterina’s Club.

Caterina’s Club is a non-profit organization, founded by Bruno Serato in 2005, that focuses on feeding the youth of America. Serato’s mission has expanded to feeding nearly 300 kids, 7 nights a week, 365 days a year. More than a quarter of a million meals have been served to date in Orange County. His dedication earned Serato the honor of being named one of the CNN Heroes 2011. Each year only ten people, selected from more than 4,000 candidates, are awarded this prestigious recognition.

The evening will start at 7 p.m. with a cocktail reception in the garden, followed by an elegant sit-down dinner at 8 p.m. During the cocktail hour, chefs will do cooking demonstrations with some of Bruno’s child protégés. During dinner, the eighth in the GAYOT Dinner Series, the chefs and I will sit with the guests.

Serato and his team will prepare and serve a five-course meal for $250, which includes complimentary drinks during cocktail hour plus Champagne with dinner. ALL ticket purchases go straight to the charity, which will use the funds to house and feed needy kids. I am happy to donate my time for Serato and Caterina’s Club, and hope you will do the same.

The participating chefs are: Jean-Pierre Dubray, The Resort at Pelican Hill; Jeff Mahin, Stella Rossa Pizza Bar; Ryan Carson, Pri-ve ; Francis Perrot, Fairbanks Ranch Country Club; Wendie Huffman, Ten Asian Bistro & Sushi Bar; Edmond Sarfati, traditional French chef; Anahita Naderi, Hidden Dinner; Yvan Valentin, owner of Sweet Temptations; Michel Blanchet, owner of Small Smoked Seafood Company; Octavio Montoya, Laguna Culinary Arts Café; Christophe Happillon, The Oyster Gourmet; Antonio Cagnolo, owner of Antonello Ristorante; Eddie Meza, Anaheim White House; Louis Laulhere, former owner of La Vie en Rose; Pierre Sauvaget, former chef of Bel-Air Bay Club; Laurent Brazier, executive chef instructor for Laguna Culinary Arts; Maurice Brazier, White House Catering; and Pascal Olhats, Brasserie Pascal.

They will be joined by chef and radio host Jamie Gwen; Susan Irby, The “Bikini Chef”, also a radio host, and actually two radioshows I go on regularly; Barbara Venezia, from the TV show At Home the Range; and CJ Luis, a 12-year old, a Bruno’s protégé.
