Anti-Inflammatory Tonic Recipe

By Cristina Curp

The cool thing about this anti-inflammatory concoction is that it actually tastes really good.

Serves 6 | Prep Time: 10 minutes

This is a blend of gut-healing bone broth that is packed with collagen, which also supports healthy joints, and a heavy dose of fresh cilantro. Cilantro isn’t just delicious in guac, it’s a pretty cool herb that can lower blood pressure, protect against oxidative stress, and is packed with electrolytes. Lemon juice and zest bring in antioxidant and immune boosting Vitamin C, and, of course, the popular anti-inflammatory root, turmeric, with a pinch of black pepper! Blend it up and keep it in the fridge for a few days when you’re feeling stiff or swollen. Drink a cup or two daily.

INGREDIENTS

– 3 cups bone broth
– 2 cups chopped cilantro
– juice of one lemon
– 1 teaspoon lemon zest
– ½ teaspoon ground turmeric
– pinch of ground black pepper

METHOD

• Combine the ingredients in your blender and blend until smooth.
• Drink room temperature or chilled.
• Store in the fridge in a large jar for up to a week.
• Shake before serving.
