2011 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport Convertible Review

Track-Tested Drop Top

In short: A fast, fine-tuned American-made roadster.

This insanely fast Corvette convertible revives the Grand Sport name from Chevy's series of roadsters that competed in races like the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the 1960's, and more than lives up to the legacy of its forebears. Meticulously tested on race tracks before being unleashed on the road, the Corvette Grand Sport offers a fine-tuned high-performance ride — and sets a scorching 0-60 time of under 4 seconds. While this American-made muscle car may not be quite on par with some of its European competitors — the likes of which will cost you nearly twice as much — the Grand Sport Convertible does offer great value at a starting price under $60,000. Lead-footed nature lovers will also be happy to learn that Chevrolet's latest Corvette achieves a decent 18 mpg combined fuel economy, reducing emissions while avoiding a costly gas-guzzler tax.
