2009 COLCOA French Film Festival Lineup

The week-long film festival will feature 50 films, including 30 features and 20 shorts released in France over the past ten months.

Event highlights include the world premiere of Zabou Breitman’s Someone I Loved, based on the best-selling novel by Anna Gavalda. Other films include Caroline Bottaro’s first feature Queen to Play, which will be presented at COLCOA on the same day as its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival; Josiane Balasko’s A French Gigolo, as well as the much-anticipated North American premiere of Philippe Lioret’s Welcome. Three of the most awarded films at the 2009 César awards will also be presented: Jean-François Richet ‘s Mesrine: A Film in Two Parts; Séraphine, by Martin Provost, and Rémi Bezançon’s The First Day of the Rest of Your Life. The French comedy OSS 117, Lost in Rio will have its international premiere screening here, one week after its release in France, and 2006 COLCOA awardees return to this year’s festival with the world premiere of their film So Close.

Admission: Ticket prices are $10 for adults, $5 for students, and $7 for seniors and members of American Cinematheque, ASC, ICG, Film Independent, LACMA, SAG, and Women in Film.
