2015 COLCOA French Film Festival Lineup

The nine-day festival will present 68 films, including three world premieres, seven international premieres, 14 North American or U.S. premieres and 16 West Coast premieres.

Returning for the 19th year is the annual City of Lights, City of Angels (COLCOA) Film Festival in Los Angeles, which features French films ranging from shorts to documentaries to dramas to romantic comedies.

The nine-day festival at the Directors Guild of America will present 68 films, including three world premieres, seven international premieres, 14 North American or U.S. premieres and 16 West Coast premieres. In addition, this year marks the debut of a competition for films and series made for television.

Among the events are the world premiere of “Blind Date,” a romantic comedy written and directed by actor Clovis Cornillac; the North American premiere of TV drama “Chefs (Season 1),” a series co-developed and co-written by Arnaud Malherbe and Marion Festraëts and directed by Arnaud Malherbe; and the North American Premiere of “A Perfect Man,” a thriller co-written by Yann Gozlan, Guillaume Lemans and Grégoire Vigneron, directed by Yann Gozlan, and starring Pierre Niney and Ana Girardot.

Take note of the returning themed series, such as the COLCOA Classics Series; the After 10 Series (April 21-25); the Happy Hour Talk Series in association with Variety (April 21-25); the Film Noir Series, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary (April 24, 25 & 27), the French NeWave 2.0 Series in association with Indiewire (April 25); the Short Film Competition (April 26); The Focus on a Filmmaker (Michel Hazanavicius: April 23) and The Focus on Two Producers (Maxime Delauney and Romain Rousseau: April 25).

Except for “Of Men and War” and “108 Demon-Kings,” presented in English, all screenings will be in French with English subtitles.

Admission: Ticket prices are $12 for adults; $9 for seniors and members of American Cinematheque, ASC, ICG, Film Independent, Cine Family, SAG and Women in Film; $4 for students and under 21. Tickets are complimentary for DGA and WGAW guild members.
