2011 COLCOA French Film Festival Lineup

The week-long French film festival will feature more than 50 films, including 34 features and 18 shorts.

UPDATE: Congratulations to the winners of the 2011 COLCOA Awards, including “Deep in the Woods,” which was awarded the LAFCA Critics Award; “Service Entrance,” which received the COLCOA Audience Award; and “Weekend,” which won the Short Film Competition.

Celebrating its 15th anniversary this year is the City of Lights, City of Angels (COLCOA) Film Festival featuring films released in France over the past year. The event kicks off with Service Entrance (“Les Femmes du 6ème Étage”), a romantic comedy directed by Philippe Le Guay, co-written by Le Guay and Jérôme Tonnerre, and starring Fabrice Luchini and Sandrine Kiberlain. Other films include His Mother’s Eyes with Catherine Deneuve, My Piece of the Pie (international premiere), and Nothing to Declare (North American premiere).

There will also be series dedicated to topics such as COL•COA Classics, Film Noir, and Focus on a Filmmaker, honoring writer-director Bertrand Blier. In addition, two of the winning films from the 2011 COL•COA Awards will be re-screened for free on Monday, April 18th at 7:30 p.m.

Admission: Ticket prices are $10 for adults, $5 for students, and $7 for seniors and members of American Cinematheque, ASC, ICG, Film Independent, LACMA, SAG, and Women in Film. Tickets are complimentary for DGA and WGAW guild members.
