Open Lunch & Dinner daily
This longtime Indian favorite, with its below-street-level entrance, is cozy and intimate, with soothingly low lighting, attentive service, and better-than-average Northern Indian fare. From the chefs recommendations, choose the special Akbar dinner: choice of soup or samosa, tandoori chicken, chicken tikka, rogan josh, dal, onion kulcha and pullau rice. You can't go wrong with standards like mulligatawny soup or paneer, the house-made cheese, in a thick tomato curry spiked with cilantro. Try the chicken chaat doused with mango powder and tamarind sauce for a refreshing cold starter and absolutely end with the kulfi, an iced dessert of sweetened milk infused with ground pistachios and a hint of rosewater. The daily lunch buffet is fresh and bountiful, and a good value.
