THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED 041 Bacaro Restaurant Review:

Some people will recognize 041 as the code one must dial to connect with Venice, Italy. But it’s much easier and more fun to zip over to Culver City and get a sense of the Venetian culinary experience at this bacaro (known in Italy as a bar where one can indulge in drinkable, inexpensive wines and snack on small plates). Though the dining room is diminutive and dark, its entirety is surrounded by windows, allowing for plenty of light and a view of the downtown neighborhood. Guests can start with a glass of dry Italian white such as Arneis while nibbling on creamy burrata, thicker-than-average prosciutto, and deep-fried gnoccho fritto (a crunchy pillow of bread). Pizza is typically good in any circumstance, though the crust here is a touch too stiff. With a bold glass of earthy Aglianico, diners should order the unctuous meat ragù on homemade pappardelle. There are also classic entrées such as short ribs, roast chicken and tagliata (hanger steak cooked in olive oil and balsamic). For dessert, a light version of tiramisu is layered with lemon.
