: This lively bar and restaurant in the northern ’burbs is as warm and familiar as an old friend, even though it's been open less than a decade. The setting is built around the history of the light bulb because the building was once a power company. It’s no surprise, then, that there’s plenty of energy at the long bar---especially on Thursday nights when the place is packed wall-to-wall with singles. The atmosphere can overtake the need for food, but it rarely disappoints. Stick with appetizers like the tosca misto---artichoke, asparagus, portobello mushrooms and fresh lemon---or pastas such as fettuccine with roasted lobster in spicy Bolognese sauce. Can't take the din? Head downstairs to Edison's, a dimly lit jazz and martini bar, where the vibe is a bit more low-key. And don't miss bistro night on Mondays; new menu items are created each week to celebrate the edible traditions of Italy and France. |
