52 Faubourg Saint-Denis
Trendy bistro in the Strasbourg - Saint-Denis area with a relaxed atmosphere.
52 Faubourg Saint-Denis Restaurant Review:
This former butcher’s shop has been skillfully transformed into a trendy bistro. A rectangular counter occupies the centre of the dining room and a huge ventilation pipe on the ceiling confers an industrial touch to the place. The menu is printed on a simple sheet of paper, suggesting well-executed dishes created with quality products and the right seasonings. For a satisfying meal, try the marinated swordfish with olives, pear and black radish; the ginger-lacquered pig cheek with butternut cream; and, to finish it off, the clafoutis flavored with pear and ginger and Jamaican pepper. Among the few wines by the glass proposed by a server in a T-shirt, the Côtes du Rhône les Ribes de Montmirail Les Espiers 2013 from Philippe Cartoux makes a perfect match with the pig.
