7 Mile House Restaurant Review:

Since its birth in 1853 as a “mile house” on the stage coach line from San Francisco to San Jose, this backwater oasis on the road to Brisbane has played host to prostitutes, bootleggers, gamblers and gangsters. Under current owner Vanessa Garcia, 7 Mile House serves hefty burgers to biotech lunchers, juicy barbecue to gameday brunchers, and piping hot sisig and adobo to Filipino connoisseurs. A sprawling menu and familial atmosphere are both kid- and reveler-friendly. A rotation of local musicians and a Wednesday night “chef’s table” that features recipes from the neighborhood promote community gathering and a spirit of inclusion. The restaurant seats 113, including 28 on the heated patio, and the full bar features selections on tap from Brisbane Brewing Company. We recommend the loaded crab and avocado salad, and the Manila-style sisig with raw egg, which finishes cooking tableside atop a sizzling skillet.
