![]() : It’s hard to pass this bright, muralled hut without wondering what’s inside. Go ahead and let curiosity lead: while what’s in store appears simple, the Cuban bites are nothing short of first-rate. Plastered with newspapers and photos from the motherland of the owners (they landed 90 miles from Cuba in Key West in 1980), the (mostly) carry-out spot has people excited for Cuban sandwiches, which range from a garlicky shrimp to a lechon (a tasty mess of shredded pork, grilled onions, plantains and garlic sauce). But it doesn’t stop there --- get the marinated chicken breast topped with grilled onions and served with black beans, rice and plantains or try the flaky empanadas. Then grab some extras for leftovers the next day. Also located at 2540 W. Armitage Ave., 773-227-2822. |
