Abe & Louie's Restaurant Review:
Steakhouses in Boston are a dime a dozen, but Abe & Louie’s boasts an elegant main dining room with leather booths, ornately decorated with mahogany paneling and a vaulted gold-leafed ceiling. The oversize menu gives a subliminal hint of what is in store --- massive sides, over-the-top appetizers, a varied wine list and flavorful steaks. Start off with the famous lobster mac ‘n’ cheese with a toasted Parmesan crumb topping, or the baked, tender littleneck clams casino. Move on to a thick and juicy center-cut (one pound) New York aged marbled sirloin or the signature bone-in filet mignon topped with a portobello demi-glace. Filet of beef Wellington, lobster fra diavolo and braised lamb shank are mainstay nightly specials. All of the sides (creamed fresh spinach, Vidalia onion strings and sautéed mushrooms) are served à la carte and are large enough to share. End your visit with the colossal (and they do mean colossal) seven layer chocolate cake.
