Addi's Tandoor Restaurant Review

: Though the restaurant’s name includes “tandoor” --- the clay oven of Northern India --- the specialty at Addi Decosta's establishment is the cuisine of his native Goa. This western Indian enclave was under Portuguese rule for more than 400 years, and chef Gurbachan Singh is mindful to incorporate the European influence in the menu. Seafood is a specialty, the best dishes being coconut-mint shrimp and prawns in mango-garlic sauce. There is also a textbook version of lamb vindaloo; instead of merely being fiery, the meat holds a substantial depth of flavor. Of course, tandoor selections like chicken with spicy Kashmiri peppers, swordfish kebabs and ground New Zealand lamb chunks on skewers are available, as are a few vegan selections ranging from vegetable vindaloo to Ghobie artichoke mattar. Desserts include Indian ice cream and fresh carrot pudding. The restaurant is nicely decorated and has a good wine list, making this a destination for adventurous diners.
