THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Adobo Grill Restaurant Review:
This Mexican concept remains a crowd-pleaser, its group-friendly setting contemporary and its prices affordable, especially for the level of food offered. Margaritas are shaken and served tableside. Guacamole, served in the molcajete in which it is fashioned, also is made before your eyes. Full-flavor choices range from cazuelas (casseroles baked in a wood oven in earthenware vessels) to a trio of ceviche---including ahi with ginger and soy sauce, avocado, red onions and jícama---and achiote-roasted cochinita pibil. A fine way to end a meal is with scoops of lush, smooth Mexican chocolate ice cream. Watch for frequent tequila dinners, which are a great deal. Also located at 1610 N. Wells St., 312-266-7999.
