THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Alastair Little Restaurant Review:

THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED FOR RENOVATIONS Alastair Little himself has departed, but little else has changed. The smallish room keeps its pale wood, cream walls and vibrant paintings. The food is modish, using seasonal ingredients with aplomb and spices and seasonings from around the world. Go for smoked salmon Russian style with blinis and caviar, or soy-braised scallops with fennel purée. Mains might include Welsh lamb either with fatoush, goats’ cheese and broad bean and olive salad or baked in an herb crust. Finish with the likes of a crème brûlée enlivened with stem ginger, or a chocolate and apricot tart and you’ll be well satisfied. The global wine list climbs above £20 quickly. It’s a good restaurant for pre- and post theatre lunch. Set 2-course menu £35, 3 courses £40; pre- and post-theatre menu 2 courses £18, 3 courses £23.
