Spectacular ocean views and a 550-label wine list are just a couple reasons why the Albion River Inn Restaurant is a well-known culinary destination. The pleasant melody of the piano underscores the romantic tone with whispers of two-tops faintly heard between chords. Inspired by the sea itself, chef Stephen Smith churns out seafood dishes like grilled ginger-lime prawns over coconut-jasmine rice or the seafood cioppino with a slightly spicy tomato-fennel base. Land-lovers need not hesitate, as demonstrated by the bacon-bourbon demi-glace filet mignon atop a rich Danish blue cheese and tarragon gratinée or the grilled pork tenderloin topped with a sweet onion and dried cherry glaze. For a go-big or go-home finale, we suggest the house-made chocolate mousse infused with Kahlúa, Amaretto and hazelnut liqueurs.
