Aldo's is a winning combination of good Italian comfort food dressed up and Virginia Beach's glitterati. Dishes such as romanelli alla vodka (pasta stuffed with Fontina, ricotta and Parmesan topped with tomato vodka cream sauce, prosciutto and shrimp), fileto al Cognac (hand-cut seven-ounce filet of beef in a Cognac-peppercorn sauce sided by linguine aglio olio) and pizzas from the wood-burning brick oven, and a notable wine list, have delighted Hampton Roadsters and tourists for more than 25 years. Desserts including napoleons and tiramisu make this a favorite of families, but the addition of live entertainment and a sophisticated meet-and-greet bar area mean Aldo's is a place where the beautiful people gather in the evenings for a variety of adult libations, many with Virginia accents, such as cosmopolitans comprising Cirrus potato vodka distilled in Richmond and house-crafted cranberry-basil syrup and hot toddies with local honey.
