What was once a restaurant called Harvest on Huron is now called Allen's. The Allen in question is Allen Sternweiler, the chef who saw fit to retrofit his restaurant. However, it takes more than a name change (and some low-budget cosmetic surgery) to sizzle the synapses of the dining public these days. If we were to pick a favorite dish or two from the seasonal menu, it would be the lobster-and-sweet-corn bisque, grilled pork tenderloin and chocolate cake. Other choices include roasted sweetbreads with horseradish mashed potatoes and oxtail sauce, braised veal cheek stroganoff with anchovy butter atop homemade fettuccine, and roasted capon.
