THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Ambrozia Cafe & Wine Bar Restaurant Review:
Ambrozia is the work of three young chefs who opened their own restaurant. They chose a 100-year-old house in Old Town as the setting for their inventive, sometimes playful menu---where else would you find french toast crusted in Cocoa Krispie cereal, or fried calamari served with watermelon and chipotle mayonnaise? There are plenty of serious items on the menu too, like grilled duck breast with spicy mashed potatoes and a veal roll served with Marsala and Gorgonzola sauce. A favorite appetizer is the pancetta-wrapped shrimp nestled on a bed of savory cheddar grits with a spicy-sweet chile and molasses glaze.
