The Anchor Restaurant Review:

Just off the beach, The Anchor brings a seaside vibe to, well ... the seaside. This casual, friendly place has a bright nautical theme, flavorful fare and efficient service. The heated patio offers seating at picnic tables underneath the colonnade. (Dogs are welcome here, and the staff is even prepared with treats.) Inside the small space, there are a few high-top tables and an L-shaped bar facing the kitchen and oyster station. On the menu, guests will find options like those aforementioned bivalves, salads (including one with kale and quinoa) and braised octopus with chorizo, seasonal greens, house-made pickles and chimichurri. The signature "lobster roll," an open-faced sandwich topped with shaved black truffles, is listed as "A Must" and we heartily agree. Desserts take their cues from comfort food and may feature a salted caramel fudge brownie or s'mores panna cotta. Weekend brunch tempts mid-day diners with orange pecan sticky buns with caramel sauce and Maldon salt; a short rib sandwich with horseradish crème fraîche; and bottomless beverage specials (mimosa, soju Bloody Mary or michelada). There is a light wine list and six (mostly local) craft beers on draft, plus several more bottled and canned selections. Enjoy $5 draft beers and $2 off all wines by the glass during happy hour Tues.-Fri. 3 p.m.-6 p.m., Sat.-Sun. 2:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m.
