The Angus Barn Restaurant Review

: After several decades in business, this classic white tablecloth establishment remains one of the most beloved restaurants in the area. Though famous for special occasion dinners, The Wild Turkey Lounge is a cozy spot for more casual fare including crab cakes, burgers and onion rings. For cigar aficionados, an impressive selection is available. Chef Walter Royal, winner of the "Iron Chef" title on the Food Network, heads the kitchen, which presents both standard steakhouse fare and French specialties. Royal’s most imaginative efforts are showcased at specially planned events held in the intimate wine cellar, far removed from the cacophony of the massive dining rooms. Best bets on the regular menu are the rib-eye steak, the prime rib or the rack of lamb. Soup and side dishes accompany the meat, though shrimp cocktails and other traditional appetizers are offered. Vegetarians may choose three-cheese ravioli or grilled seasonal vegetables. Portions are generous, but save room for chocolate chess pie or apple crisp. The Barn is known for its friendly service and extensive wine list; it includes a lineup of first growth Bordeaux and notable Burgundies. Among the latter is a collection of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. Expect wines from Idaho, New York, Canada and North Carolina, too, and ports and Madeiras are well represented.
