This family-owned establishment specializes in petite open-face sandwiches and Hungarian pastries in a modern space splashed with brightly colored paint. On any given day, you’ll find egg salad, liverwurst, Hungarian salami with mustard, smoked salmon with cream cheese and capers, or even PB&J. Priced at $2-$3 per sandwich, they’re an attractive option for a quick lunch. More interesting, however, are the traditional Hungarian pastries. Savory items made with a slightly chewy dough include bacon or cheese pogi, while sausages wrapped in puff pastry are also offered. The repertoire of sweets encompasses choceez (sweetened farmer’s cheese covered in semi-sweet chocolate), miniature cinnamon rolls and satisfying Nutella pastries.
