Tucked away on the bypass in Kitty Hawk is this diminutive restaurant with a menu leaning heavily toward Italy and utilizing fresh Mediterranean flavors and local seafood. Appetizers range from rich, buttery Champagne-steamed oysters to spicy chipotle sirloin steak bites. Try the Caesar salad; it’s offered alongside other classic dishes like escargots and French onion soup. Dinner presents Italia with chicken piccata; seafood fra diavolo; shrimp, chicken or veal Parmigiana; and pasta with homemade bolognese, Alfredo or carbonara sauces. A few other countries are drawn from in dishes like seafood de Provence with garlic, tomato and a saffron fumé, and the shrimp Daniel featuring jumbo shrimp stuffed with an island-spiced lump crab meat and drizzled with a creamy lobster sauce. Several entrées are available in a small-plate option as well.
