Lunch time is when Asahi bustles, thanks to its financial-district neighborhood. You’ll find the usual sushi and sashimi choices here, along with the occasional offbeat dish, like tiny raw shrimp on a nugget of rice alongside a cluster of deep-fried shrimp heads. The sushi bar’s resident chef cheerfully advises what’s fresh. Diners with an aversion to raw fish can opt for a nice selection of cooked rolls, as well as deftly prepared shabu-shabu, tempuras and teriyakis.
