Asakuma Rice Restaurant Review

: Despite its strip center location, this La Cienega Design Quarter eatery has sophisticated modern décor, with a backlit sushi bar, high-back chocolate banquettes and a ceiling covered in gold and red-boxed lighting fixtures. The menu is primarily Chinese, dominated by standards like kung pao chicken, sweet and pungent shrimp, and jade chicken. You’ll find noodle dishes, fried rice, tempura and decent vegetarian selections as well. However, the restaurant also offers a full sushi bar, which is probably the best bet here. The chefs do a respectable job with sushi, sashimi and specialty rolls, incorporating reasonably good product for a neighborhood spot.
