: With its dimly lit, stylishly modern setting of black and dark blue hues and understated Asian decorative accents, complete with a statue of Buddha along the wall, Asia Kan looks like your typical Asian fusion restaurant. The menu is a collection of classic and special sushi rolls and eclectic Asian appetizers as well as grill specialties. Many dishes fall short, though. Take the iso maki special roll, a blend of tuna, salmon, yellowtail, avocado, cucumber and tobiko with white seaweed: the taste should have been subtle but flavorful, and was instead bland. The king crab roll was flaky and light, but the sushi rice was on the dry side. Pad thai, however, remains solid; we also recommend the duck tamarind. |
