The traditional Buddha statuette greets guests in this elegant restaurant where the most notable feature is privacy: the tables are surrounded by ivory pillars holding shimmering pink curtains pulled back with gold cords that can be released if diners only have eyes for each other. The versatile menu, combining original and traditional dishes, is designed to cater to Asian-American tastes, as well as the most discerning of the resort's visitors from Asia. Tanks hold the seasonal fish, shrimp, crab and lobster until they are ordered, then brought live for approval to the table. Go for the Japanese miso soup with mussels and a garnish of fresh tofu and shiitake mushrooms. We like the house special shrimp in spicy garlic sauce and the sliced abalone with seasonal greens. Try the beef chow fun with black bean sauce. The popular stir-fried double scallops with pine nuts is flavored with a spicy black pepper sauce. Go for chef Winston Chung's surf and turf specialty---wok-fried New York strip loin with a fragrant rosé wine-soy reduction and sweet and spicy Szechwan shrimp. Refresh your palate with Asia's mango mousse or homemade green tea ice cream for dessert.
