Austen's at the Pierpont Inn Restaurant Review:

A hilltop perch affords panoramic views of the ocean, and Arts & Crafts architecture transports you to another time. Unfortunately, inconsistency has become the hallmark of this Ventura classic in recent years, with shifting owners and frequent changes at the hotel and in the restaurant. The kitchen works farmers market greens and local seafood into many dishes. Grilled asparagus with bitter frisée and an egg --- first poached, then fried --- is served with a warm Parmesan bacon vinaigrette as an appetizer. Prime rib is served most weekends, and there are occasional tasting dinners with wine pairings.
