Aïda is counted among the most expensive Japanese restaurants in Paris. Behind a white and spare façade, guests take their places around a counter in front of hotplates or in a small room decked out with tatami. Only one menu is available. Under such conditions, expect to encounter refined and fresh products, for example, the meat hails from Hugo Desnoyer, a top butcher in the 14th arrondissement. Chef Koji Aïda is renowned for his accurate mastering of the die-cut, carving up seafood, sea bass and mackerel sashimi, as well as Châteaubriand teppanyaki (grilled meat). To match the dozen courses of the menu, there’s an exhaustive wine list and a fine assortment of Japanese beverages.
