Amadeus Restaurant Restaurant Review:

Amadeus Restaurant is located in a restored 1876 Victorian-era commercial building. Lace curtains, polished oak floors and white tablecloths exude an inviting Central European vibe at this Viennese establishment. Owner Pawel Strozynski, who comes from generations of restaurant owners, draws upon his extensive European travels in developing his menu. Dinners are hearty, but they're served on delicate china under the soft glow of table lamps. It's an appropriate setting to enjoy Amadeus placek, a potato pancake finished with savory dill sauce and smoked salmon, or a pierogi plate of six polish dumplings filled with a choice of sweet cheese, pork, mushroom potato-American cheese, sauerkraut or potato-farmer cheese. Golabki are traditional cabbage rolls stuffed with rice and ground pork and topped with tomato sauce. For dessert, try the rich Austrian Sachertorte or a slice of white chocolate macadamia torte. A wide selection of European labels are found on the extensive wine list, along with a nice collection of Euro beers. Live classical music is heard on Friday and Saturday evenings. Consider coming for Sunday brunch, too, when offerings include the Napoleon breakfast, two layers of puff pastry with scrambled eggs, scallions, spinach, onions, mushrooms, peppers and goat cheese.
