Andrene's Caribbean & Soul Food Carry Out Restaurant Review:
Way up at the tail end of DC’s Northwest area, this eatery features earthy examples of soul and Caribbean fare. Check the menu, not the blackboard (some of the items are not available) before ordering, and you’ll surely be happy enough with the curry goat and sides of greens and fried plantains. Other Caribbean offerings include king fish, escoveitched snapper, and ackee and saltfish. For something more Southern, choose from ribs and barbecue wingettes. The place offers a good cheesecake. For an eye-opener, Andrene’s serves breakfast.
