Thoughtfully conceived sandwiches are the main attraction at Arguello Super Market’s deli counter, which services an eclectic mix of in-the-know locals and Golden Gate Park picnickers. While the hot turkey with cranberry and avocado on Dutch crunch grabs headlines, the juicy rotisserie chicken is also worthy. Twelve cold sandwich selections feature Boar’s Head meats, and a host of salads fill the deli case. A quartet of toasty calzones are a particular value. Breakfasters will find an espresso bar and a simple selection of pastries and bagels to order.
