THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Au Rendez-Vous Restaurant Review:

After ten years in a simple, out-of-the-way location abutting a dry cleaner, Jean-Claude Changivy moved Au Rendez-Vous to Chamblee. Renovating a modest house, he broke through walls and created dining niches. Formica-topped, metal banded tables and simple chairs sit on nicely refurbished oak floors. A warm peach tone and dimmed lighting, along with soft classical music, create a romantic atmosphere, making the restaurant apropos for an inexpensive casual date. The food is the sort of fare one might encounter in a French routier, or truck stop: rabbit in mustard sauce; cassoulet with duck, lamb and sausage; duck au vin rouge; clafoutis for dessert. Expect the menu to change seasonally. A notable distressing change, though, is no more BYO, as Changivy has developed a wine list and no outside wine is allowed. The line-up is brief, and lacks selections that support the food.
