àvert Brasserie Restaurant Review:

Owned by chef and restaurateur Dorjan Puka, whose first venture, Treva, is around the corner (àvert is Treva reversed: now, you're in on the secret), and helmed by executive chef Jared Posocco, this bright, narrow space is a runway to Paris, a contemporary reflection of the French city's style and cuisine. Whether you land at the bar or at an intimate table or booth, treat yourself to a Kir Royal or glass of Bordeaux and selections from the menu of fromage and charcuterie. We like the fresh chèvre and duck salami with house-crafted Dijon mustard. From Hudson Valley foie gras to frisée salad topped with a sunny-side-up egg, starters are classically prepared using fresh, local ingredients. Entrées follow suit and include infinitely approachable options like steak frites: choose a filet, New York strip or hanger steak with house-cut fries. But this is also your go-to place for buttery escargots and delicately crisped veal sweetbreads. Service is relaxed --- sometimes to the point of nonchalance --- but we actually appreciate this when we're dining with friends and have catching up to do. Whether you nibble a macaron or indulge in the chocolate pot de crème, a steamy cup of French press coffee is a must before you say "au revoir."
