Burger & Barrel Restaurant Review:

Chef Josh Capon and the restaurateurs behind Lure Fishbar have teamed up to bring SoHo a burger joint. The name says it all: a menu of creative hamburgers with a long, globe-spinning wine list. The Bash Style Burger, named because it took top prize at a local food and wine burger bash, might be the most alluring variety of burger on the menu: it comes with American cheese, caramelized onions and bacon jam, of which the latter ingredient is unfortunately too subtle to taste. There’s also one with hot peppers and an excellent chickpea-laden veggie burger. Fries are nicely crispy and not too greasy. For those looking to stay on the healthy side, there’s a very good tomato soup (with a grilled goat cheese sandwich) and plenty of salad options. The warm woods and dark interior of the place invite diners to stay awhile.
