THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Cafe Firenze Restaurant Review:

Though chef/owner Fabio Viviani charmed his way to the semifinals of Bravo’s’ “Top Chef," his food outshines his personality at this high-profile restaurant. Viviani may have won America’s heart with his flirtatious smile, but we prefer his starters, like pancetta-wrapped shrimp with Gorgonzola and sautéed spinach. Mains like dry-aged rib-eye still on its long rib, seared and drizzled with olive oil, or the fluffy gnocchi in a creamy pesto sauce wake up your taste buds. Brick-oven pizzas or the temping lobster bisque remind diners that simple food can be quite good. Sit in the bar area up front, the main dining room or the adjoining wine room, or on the patio out back. Or consider the chef’s table: a seven-course meal with wine-pairing options, as well as a chance to dine with either Viviani or executive chef John Paolone. For dessert, go with the chocolate espresso tiramisu. Classic cocktails and an extensive wine list make the meal that much more fun.
